Eureka Biotech Call 2026 call is suitable for companies with a clear development idea and market potential that need an international partner’s technology, expertise, development capacity or access to a new market.
What kind of projects are expected?
🔬 biomanufacturing and production technologies – sustainable biomanufacturing, microfactories, supply chain traceability and technology transfer;
💊 next-generation medicines and treatments – mRNA-based vaccines, microbiome-based therapeutics and diagnostics, exosome-based solutions and new antibiotics;
🌱 agricultural and veterinary biotechnology – new veterinary medicines and the use of genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics;
💻 diagnostics and data technologies – bioinformatics, AI solutions for biotechnology, molecular diagnostics and biosensors.
Projects should have a clear implementation plan, with all partners making a meaningful contribution to the development and benefiting from the cooperation.
Who can participate?
The project consortium must include at least two independent organisations from at least two countries participating in the call.
Participating countries and regions include Austria, Belgium – Flanders and Wallonia, Canada, Chile, Estonia, France, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Türkiye.
The project must focus on developing and commercialising an innovative product, process or service, have a civilian purpose and be balanced between the partners – no single organisation or country may account for more than 70% of the total project budget.
How much funding is available for Estonian companies?
Estonian participants are funded by EIS. Funding can reach up to EUR 500,000 per project.
According to the Estonian funding conditions published on the official Eureka call page, support may reach:
• up to 80% for start-ups and small companies;
• up to 65% for large companies.
The exact funding rate depends on the size of the company and the project activities. To receive EIS funding, the company must be registered in Estonia, be able to cover its own financing share and demonstrate a significant link and impact on the Estonian economy.

The joint project application is submitted through the Eureka system. Following a positive international evaluation, the Estonian company submits its national funding application to EIS.
