Free webinar on 11 September: How to reduce payment risks and secure payments when doing business in China

On 11 September, the free webinar “How to Get Paid When Doing Business in China” will provide European SMEs with practical guidance on reducing payment risks and dealing with payment disputes in the Chinese market.

The webinar will cover, among other topics, how to:

  • establish clear and enforceable payment terms in contracts;
  • reduce the risk of late or unpaid invoices;
  • collect the necessary evidence in case of a dispute;
  • approach jurisdiction and arbitration clauses;
  • pursue claims and enforce court decisions in China.

The session will be led by Jan Holthuis, Senior Partner and Lawyer at BUREN, who has extensive experience in international transactions, Chinese legal matters and international arbitration. He is a registered arbitrator with the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) and the Tianjin Arbitration Commission.

The webinar will take place on 11 September 2026 from 11:00 to 12:15 Estonian time. Participation is free of charge and the event will be held in English.

The webinar is organised by the EU SME Centre and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China. It is open to SMEs and business support organisations from EU Member States and countries participating in the Single Market Programme.
