Free Brussels Calling webinar on 11 September: turning European research, innovation and funding opportunities into business growth

Europe invests heavily in research and innovation, yet good ideas still take too long to reach companies, markets and the wider economy. Which European developments will affect Estonian companies in the coming years, and how can businesses benefit from them?

The first webinar in the new Brussels Calling series will take place on 11 September. It will explore upcoming developments in European funding, innovation and competitiveness, the changes companies should prepare for and the opportunities these developments may create for Estonian businesses.

The discussion will also examine how research and development results can be transferred into business more effectively, turned into a competitive advantage and used to make companies’ needs better heard at the European level.

The guest speaker is Maive Rute, Deputy Director-General of the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre. The discussion will be moderated by Kristel Oitmaa, Head of the EIS Brussels Office.

Brussels Calling is a monthly webinar series. Each session will begin with a short overview of recent and upcoming EU developments affecting business and innovation. This will be followed by an in-depth discussion of one topical issue, its impact and opportunities for Estonian companies, and a question-and-answer session. Participants will also receive a summary with key conclusions, useful links and recommended next steps after each webinar.

The series is aimed primarily at innovative, knowledge-intensive Estonian companies with international growth potential, as well as business associations and networks.
