The European Innovation Council Accelerator (EIC Accelerator) may provide support of up to EUR 2.5 million in grant funding and up to EUR 10 million in equity investment.
The European Innovation Council Accelerator (EIC Accelerator) supports product development and market entry based on breakthrough technologies. A key prerequisite for a successful project is a prototype that has been tested by a customer or end user, meaning that at least TRL5 activities must be completed.
The EIC Accelerator is a highly competitive funding instrument, but Estonian companies have been very successful in the programme. Recent success stories include Mifundo, GeneCode, Better Medicine and Raiku Packaging.
The 2026 full application deadlines are 6 May, 8 July, 2 September and 4 November. Before submitting a full application, a company must first receive approval for its short application, which should be submitted at least 2 months before the full application deadline.
The final decision is made at an interview stage, where the project is evaluated by investors and entrepreneurs. Estonian companies that reach the interview stage but are not selected there can still receive support from EIS through the Seal of Excellence programme, which provides funding for the grant project activities.
