Cross-border public procurement
Estonian entrepreneurs have the opportunity to compete in public procurements in other EU member states. If necessary, EEN can offer a “partner search service” to find local cooperation partners or explore subcontracting opportunities with the company that won the tender in the target country (by looking up the tender results). Useful information from databases:

- eCERTIS – Database explaining the documents required for tenders in EU member states

- explore business opportunities or expand their services to another EU member state

Free movement of goods and product contact point
The functioning of the European Union’s domestic market is based on the premise that products legally placed on the market in one member state can be freely sold and used in other member states. Goods that have once legally entered the EU domestic market can generally move freely within the domestic market.
- Mutual recognition of requirements
For certain product categories, EU-wide standards and technical specifications have been established. If such requirements apply to your products, they must comply with them before you can freely trade them in the EU market. In areas where EU-wide specifications have not been established, different specifications may apply to products in different EU member states. In such cases, the principle of mutual recognition is one of the pillars ensuring the free movement of goods in the EU. - Product Contact Point
The Product Contact Point provides entrepreneurs with information on the national technical standards imposed on products by member states and the application of the principle of mutual recognition. National requirements for products are those that may vary from one member state to another. You can contact the Estonian Product Contact Point in Estonian and English at pcp@ttja.ee, and contact other countries’ contact points from here.
Mandatory product labels:
- CE marking. Many products must have the CE marking before they can be sold in the EU. The CE marking indicates that the manufacturer has assessed the product and it meets EU safety, health, and environmental protection requirements. The CE marking is required for products manufactured worldwide that are marketed in the EU. Read more information here.
