Webinar: "Pretotyping – build it right to get it right"

Tehnopol would like to welcome you to the fourth webinar focused on life-science companies and start-ups. This is a series of webinars organized by different European technology parks and incubators supporting developing life-science enterprises.

The webinar is taking place on 9th of May at 4 PM Estonian time and is organized by Enixus from Latvia and carried out by Karina Sotnik from UpStart which is a centre for technology transfer at the University of Pennsylvania, USA.  

Topic: “ Pretotyping – build it right to get it right “

This webinar will be delivered by Karina Sotnik. Karina currently works for UpStart which is a centre for technology transfer at the University of Pennsylvania, USA. She has more than two decades of experience in marketing and business development for companies large and small in Silicon Valley and beyond. She specializes in launch, operations and expansion of small businesses in the US and internationally. In addition to consulting for UPstart, Karina also serves as an advisor and mentor for incubators based at two of Russia’s top universities. Her educational background is in engineering, with a master’s degree in computer science. 

She will talk to you about pretotyping. “Pretotyping” is a concept developed by Alberto Savoya of Google and Jeremy Clark of Strategos a few years back and is really getting traction with startups in Silicon Valley and beyond. This new concept let’s companies test if they are building the right “it” before they spend too much time or money. It also gives them additional data and ammunition to share with investors.
She is also teaching the same concept to the Health IT class here at UPENN.

What is the format and platform of the webinar?

The format of the event will be an online webinar using IT platform GoToWebinar (http://www.gotomeeting.com/fec/webinar). The webinar lasts about 60 minutes, presentation mixed with Q&A by the participants. The language of the webinar is English.

Please register in Tallinn to Külle Tärnov (Tehnopol – e-mail kylle.tarnov@tehnopol.ee) and in Tartu to Piia Leemet (Tartu Biotechnology Park – e-mail piia@biopark.ee) before 7th of May. The webinars are free of charge for Tehnopol and TBP client companies, for others 10 EUR +VAT per participant.
